I was so surprised but tickled pink to be asked to be part of the "Jolly in July" event hosted by the Fab4 Event Emporium! July 15, 2023 was the day and 5:00pm CST was my timeslot! This event lasted all day, had several crafters and the theme was anything Santa!!!
As you know, due to this summer being so busy for us, I haven't really had the opportunity to craft much, and I certainly hadn't had much time to think about a Christmas craft. As a matter of fact, I was stressing a bit about it.
TRUE STORY: I woke up 2 nights ago around 3AM and thought "Tic-Tac-Toe". Yep, that was my exact thought. I said to myself, "self, what the heck!". Then it donned on me that I could do a Tik-Tak-Toe board with a Santa theme! And that is how this craft came to be. I am not saying that I am the first person to make a TTT board, but I'd not seen one done. So, my mind started wondering on how to make one.
I thought about using cardboard, a glass cutting board, a round wooden board, but none of those really sounded like what I wanted. I then thought I'd go to our handy-dandy local Dollar Tree where low and behold, I found the perfect wooden board for my TTT board!
I then had to decide what I wanted to use for the rounds (instead of an X or O). I ended up ordering 2-inch wooden rounds (affiliate links below for all supplies) to Mod Podge Santa napkins onto (can be purchased at BCN).
Here is where my TTT board started taking shape in my head. My next item was how to make the cross bars to create the TTT field. I though about just using ribbon to make the field, but then paint stirrers jumped in my head.... right then and there I knew I was on to something :-)
Please watch the replay of my live to see how my TTT came to life! I must admit, it's pretty dang cute and such a great idea for your family game nights around the holidays!
