I am so tickled about how this baseball cap came out!

I was honored to be the "special guest" for the Slice of Summer event presented by "Crafters at Heart"! I went back and forth about what to make and thought... a HAT!  I, like so many others, wear baseball caps in the summer so I decided to do a tutorial on how to create your own!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

  1. Canvass Hat (i always use white)
  2. Napkin(s) of choice
  3. Water Brush
  4. Fabric Mod Podge
  5. Twine or Ribbon
  6. Red Paint
  7. Sponge Brush
  8. Paint Brush
  9. Hot Glue Gun
  10. Blow Dryer/Heat Gun

You can use ANY napkin that suits your fancy! You can make these beautiful hats for just about any occasion or just for the fun of it!

To see how I made this adorable hat, just watch the tutorial below:

Doxie Art!

Have you ever had an idea in your head and then you start to craft, but it doesn't really come out the way that it was in your head? It happens to me all the time :-) sometimes it comes out better sometimes maybe not quite as good.

What do you drink?

As silly as it sounds, I get asked a lot about what I am drinking during my lives!  And let's be honest, sometimes I just offer this un-useful piece of information to you! But here it is... It is Welch's Singles to Go Grape Drink Mix.... which I call KOOL-AID!  Hey, what can I say, I love the flavor, it's zero sugar, it's easy to open a pack and pour it into my favorite cup... and... It is a good source of Vitamin C!  It's a win-win for sure!  They have different flavors, which are pretty dang tasty, too!  But there is just something about this grape!

Baseball Cap Decoupage

Someone once asked me if you could decoupage a napkin onto a baseball cap; and yes, yes you can! As a matter fact, there's not much that you can't decopauge a napkin onto! Napkin art hardly knows a boundary!!!

Making a Bible as beautiful on the outside

as the words on the inside

Hello All!

With Easter coming soon, I wanted to add something colorful yet respectful to my decorations, hence, a decoupaged Bible!   have been wanting to do this craft for a while.  I am so thrilled that I finally did it today!

I had someone on my live tutorial post: "Make the outside as beautiful as the words on the inside." I thought that was a great way to describe what I did....so I titled this blog entry with what she said. Thanks for those encouraging words, Joy!

As you can see, I decoupaged the front, the spine and the back of the Bible! There are so many versions you could make! Let your imagination run wild!  I also hot glued a black/white ribbon around the middle to hide the seams. TIP: Be sure you cut your ribbon long enough so you can tie it into a bow/knot.

I just love how this turned out! So much so, I think I will be making some for gifts and to add to my craft fairs!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

The link to my tutorial is located here. ➡️➡️ https://fb.watch/jn9eXAjlKZ/

Do you think you might try to create this ... if you haven't yet?

If so.... send me a note/picture or an email at bottlecreeknapkins@yahoo.com and let me know what you think!

Ceramic Coasters!

I love to craft... I think you already know that!  And decoupaging ceramic coasters is one of my favorite things to do!  It's a wonderful gift for Birthday's, Anniversary's, Christmas, or just about any reason to gift someone something!

Last night I did a live showing how to decoupage ceramic coasters using the iron-on method! During the live show I used napkins, rice paper and a BEAUTIFUL cover from a 1973 Pattern!

With the iron-on method, you get no wrinkles!  If only this would work on the wrinkles on my face, just teasing... DO NOT EVER put an iron on you face.

Anywhoooo....

I use Krylon Triple Gloss spray to seal my coasters with. You can ask 50 different crafters what they use and recommend... and you will get close to 50 different responses!  I've never had issues with cold cups or hot cups sticking.  Also.... TIP: Do NOT submerge them in water... do NOT put in a dishwasher.  I don't use dishwasher safe MP, but even if I did, I would not put them in the dish washer or submerge when washing dishes. To clean, just simply take a damp cloth and wipe them off!

Last night was a blast hanging out with some of my "Creekers" as we talked about crafting, techniques and our mom's, grandma's and sewing machines! You can watch the replay of the live right here...

Supplies Needed:

  • 4 x 4 Ceramic White Coasters
  • Mod Podge
  • Brush
  • Napkin/Rice Paper/Pattern Cover (the possibilities are endless)
  • Iron
  • Parchment Paper
  • Krylon Triple Gloss Spray
  • Cork Backing

Have you ever made these?

Do you think you might try if you haven't yet?

If so.... send me a note/picture or an email at bottlecreeknapkins@yahoo.com and let me know what you think!
